Transit that keeps up with Milton

Growth shouldn't mean longer commutes and more cars on the road.

As Mayor, I will:

● Establish inter-regional transit along Highway 25 with Oakville and regional partners.

● Advocate for GO Bus connections at key hubs, including Highway 25 & 401 and Bronte Road & Highway 407.

● Push for stronger transit connections with Brampton and Mississauga and GO Train expansion.

● Introduce free transit for low-income seniors.

● Build safer cycling lanes and pedestrian connections to transit.

Better connections, fewer cars, more opportunity.

From bedroom community to destination city

Milton cannot build a sustainable future on residential growth alone. We need more employers, businesses, commercial development and tourism—so our economic base grows alongside our population.

A stronger commercial and employment tax base means more jobs close to home, more local spending and less pressure on residential property taxpayers.

As Mayor, I will:

● Prioritize commercial and employment lands so residential growth is matched by economic development.

● Maximize development charge revenue from commercial and industrial development to help offset infrastructure costs.

● Actively recruit employers and investment by working with the Milton Chamber of Commerce, Halton Region and provincial partners.

● Support small and medium-sized businesses by cutting red tape, simplifying permitting and helping entrepreneurs grow.

● Develop a Milton tourism strategy that showcases our Escarpment, conservation areas, historic downtown and growing cultural scene.

● Champion complete, mixed-use communities where residents can live, work, shop and access amenities close to home.

● Grow Milton’s commercial tax base to help keep property taxes competitive and ensure the cost of city services is shared more broadly.

Milton should be more than a place to sleep. It should be a place to work, build, invest, visit and thrive.

Better snow clearing and better service.

Milton winters are tough. Snow removal shouldn't make them harder.

Front-line and shift workers, seniors, people with disabilities and corner-lot homeowners can face particular challenges when snow and windrows block access to their homes.

As Mayor, I will:

● Explore dedicated windrow clearing programs for residents who need help most.

● Address the disproportionate snow burden faced by corner-lot homeowners.

● Establish clear, published snow-clearing service standards and report publicly on performance.

● Explore GPS tracking and route optimization for snowplow fleets.

● Create a resident feedback system for winter-service issues.

A Milton where everyone can afford to call it home.

Housing affordability will be a defining priority of my term.

I have already championed 46 units of assisted housing at Kennedy Circle and advocated for senior housing. As Mayor, I will build on that work.

My plan includes:

● Require meaningful affordable housing in major new developments through inclusionary zoning.

● Fast-track approvals for affordable and assisted housing.

● Secure funding for new senior housing, helping long-time Miltonians age in place.

● Work with Halton Region to expand housing subsidy capacity and reduce wait times.

Growth should create housing opportunities for everyone—not just those who can afford market prices.

Build ahead of growth, not behind it.

Milton's infrastructure must keep pace with our rapid growth.

As Mayor, I will:

● Introduce smart traffic technology on congested roads such as Thompson and Ontario Streets.

● Work with Town and Regional governments on dedicated turning lanes, bus bays, pedestrian overpasses and better transit connections.

● Shift from reactive maintenance toward long-term solutions.

● Develop a 20-year capital infrastructure plan aligned with Milton's growth.

● Invest in green infrastructure and stormwater management to protect neighbourhoods from flooding.

Our tax dollars should solve problems, not simply manage them.

A safer Milton for every family

Milton families deserve to feel safe in their homes, neighbourhoods and public spaces.

As a Director on the Halton Police Board, I understand how policing resources are allocated and how to advocate for Milton.

As Mayor, I will:

● Fight for an adequate number of on-duty officers serving Milton.

● Improve lighting and pedestrian safety in high-traffic areas.

● Modernize neighbourhood safety programs through technology and better communication.

● Strengthen Milton's Community Safety and Well-Being Plan with funding and measurable outcomes.

Safety isn't just a talking point, it’s a responsibility I take seriously.

Investing in Milton's next generation

Milton's young people deserve a genuine voice in the future of their community.

As Mayor, I will:

● Strengthen Milton's Youth Advisory Committee and involve youth earlier in municipal decision-making.

● Create youth leadership opportunities within local government.

● Make recreation programs and facilities more accessible and affordable.

● Pursue public and private funding for new activity centres supporting sports such as squash, pickleball, tennis and more.

The decisions we make today are the city our young people inherit tomorrow.

A Milton that welcomes business

A strong local economy means more opportunity, investment and jobs close to home.

As Mayor, I will:

● Create a dedicated Small Business Liaison Office to help entrepreneurs navigate permits, zoning and municipal services.

● Work with Milton's Chambers and DBIA to make Milton more business-friendly.

● Build regional and international partnerships through roadshows, seminars and tradeshows to attract new investment.

● Champion women entrepreneurs and inclusive economic opportunity.

Let's make Milton a place where businesses want to start, grow and stay.

Rural Milton deserves a seat at the table

Milton is more than its subdivisions.

Our farmers, equestrian communities and rural residents are an essential part of Milton's identity.

As Mayor, I will:

● Establish a Rural Milton Advisory Committee.

● Protect agricultural land and Milton's rural character.

● Invest in rural roads, connectivity and essential services.

● Ensure rural residents have meaningful input into planning, infrastructure and growth decisions.

Responsible growth means knowing what to build, and what we need to protect.
