With over 15 years of experience in public affairs, communications, and community leadership, Sameera brings a thoughtful, solutions-focused approach to local government that is grounded in listening, collaboration, and getting results.

As Regional Councillor for Ward 4, she has helped lead on housing, infrastructure, public safety, and community services—always with a focus on making life better for residents.

    • Brought Milton’s first wheelchair-accessible swing to a local park, expanding inclusive recreation for families

    • Led the installation of Milton’s first Orange Crosswalk, recognizing truth and reconciliation and honouring Indigenous communities

    • Supported the creation of a Veterans Crosswalk to honour those who served

    • Secured a new public park within a condo development, ensuring green space for both residents and the surrounding neighbourhood

    • Advocated for responsible development decisions, including standing up for community concerns around park construction

    • Introduced initiatives like traffic calming “slow down” programs to improve neighbourhood safety

    • Championed a 46-unit assisted housing project at Kennedy Circle, expanding affordable housing options

    • Secured funding for senior housing developments, including 265 Kerr Street and future projects delivering hundreds of units

    • Proposed innovative solutions like repurposing underused spaces for housing

    • Helped advance a $5.2M community fund supporting mental health, food, and crisis services

    • Advocated for action on food insecurity through municipal leadership initiatives

    • Supported investments in fire services and essential infrastructure

    • Recognized by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities with the Mike Badham Award for leadership in women’s municipal initiatives

    • Longtime organizer of community cleanups, bringing residents together year after year

    • Leader in initiatives like Elect Respect, promoting safer, more respectful public life
